the road as her Women In Docs alter ego, she indulges her inner cowgirl with a raucous alt. country side project. With boys! The Wayward Gentlemen involve some of the finest country players South East Queensland have to offer; handpicked from some of Brisbane's finest drinking establishments... Drawing on influences ranging from Lucinda Williams to Ryan Adams, Roz as a solo act melds her effusive stage presence and endearing song writing with some good honest country – style secret herbs and spices. And a cheeky little dash of the T-hormone. Roz will release her first solo album, 'This Lifeboat', with the Wayward Gentlemen mid 2009. Ably steered by renown producer, Magoo (Powderfinger, Chris Pickering, Regurgitator, The Gin Club), including some sneaky performances from Brisbane stalwarts, Andrew Morris (The Wilson Pickers) and Ben Salter (The Gin Club), the album promises to be an exceptional look at Brisbane’s depth of country talent. She’s rocked Woodford Folk Festival with this act and has left the Powerhouse Live Spark stage wondering what’s just happened. Country rock is alive and well in the safe hands of Roz and her Wayward Gentlemen ….

soulful grooves that evoke a myriad of feelings and emotion, this music is deserving of your attention. The band slides effortlessly through exotic melodies that move gently like a warm tropical breeze. A breeze that, when rhythmically stirred, can produce a howling force well befitting the name Peter Healy and the Hurricanes. |

"Music can touch people at a primal level - evoking different emotions and triggering memories of particular places and times. Music is such a part of our emotional makeup - it can make you patriotic, it can make you want to fight, it can make you want to cry" Reproduced with the kind permission of Jimmy Barnes from his book Say It Loud |
